PicTaps – A Cool New Flash Application

On another forum I frequent, someone posted a link to an online application called PicTaps. I clicked on the link to check it out, and was truly blown away.

The application allows you to paint your own character in an interface similar to the old MS Paint GUI. Then, once you’ve built your person (or animal, or whatever other object you feel like drawing), you submit the image.

At that point, PicTaps builds an animation with your new character. The character shows up in the middle, with a whole bunch of clones all around. All of the characters on-screen start dancing and moving all around.

It’s really a lot of fun, and shows you what can be done with Flash. The creator’s name is Masayuki Kido, and his web site can be found here.

Also, just for fun, you can check out the really quick, crummy drawing I made that supposed to somewhat resemble me by clicking this link. If you want to create your own, or you want to view anyone else’s, you can go to the main PicTaps page.
