Fintan’s Technorati Tag Generator

I don’t think I’ve ever posted about this here, so I thought I would do so. If you blog regularly, then you are probably aware of the importance of Technorati. If you aren’t, then just trust me, you want your blog listed there. For those of us that are fairly ignorant of how things in the blogosphere work (like I am), I think Technorati is basically just a huge list of all blogs on the Internet. It works as a search engine, I believe, searching for specific keywords throughout blogs.

Anyway, if you want your blog listed on Technorati, you need to include “Technorati Tags” (which are basically links to Technorati based on specific keywords) in your blog entries.

The best way to do that is to use Fintan’s Technorati Tag Generator. You can find a neat, quick little post from its creator in the Dech blog.

The tool is really nice and very simple. All you do is type the keywords in a box at the top of the screen, then press a button, and the tool generates the code that you need to copy and paste into your blog entry. If you want, the tool will even wrap the tags in a div container, so you can apply special formatting to your Technorati tags.

You can find the tool itself by checking Technorati’s tool page, or by going directly to Fintan’s page on MarketWest
