Flock by Till - June 16, 2006

try_flock.jpg A new kid on the browser block, Flock claims to be a browser which does what Web2.0 is all about: sharing. And there is even better news for developers; Flock is based on Mozilla technologies, which means we won’t have to optimize websites for yet another browser.

Now if you say, “Hey, that ain’t all that new!” – you are right. A shift in focus by Till - May 27, 2006

While I thought optimizing for another browser is out of date since they all pretty much follow the same models, I noticed that especially with complexity of applications on the rise in regard to XHTML, JavaScript code and CSS (hint: Ajax) I found myself optimizing for Internet Explorer 6 a lot more than I do for its competition.

The competition which is primarily is Firefox on Windows and Linux/Unix, and Safari when you are on Mac OS X. Even the Camino browser bears less issues as IE6 lately. But my equation also totally neglects Opera.

Weirdness!
