Truth be told, having played with the iPhone a bit more since I wrote that post, the apps are fantastic. I still feel, as a PMP, it doesn't stand up to the Zune. However, with the right games, it could very easily stand up to the Nintendo DS as a handheld gaming device. I downloaded the free version of Cooking Mama the other day, and had more fun with it than the DS version. Plus, at $6.99 USD for the full version, that's a good bit better deal than the $30 or so you would pay for the DS version (of course, with the DS version, you have the luxury of using it on any DS, rather than just yours - so there are trade-offs).

Glad to hear there are other satisfied Zune users out there. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one. For phone and entertainment purposes (other than PMP), the iPhone is great.

Hey I pretty much agree with your thoughts as far as iPod vs. Zune. I currently own a Zune and love the software and subscription feature vs. what is offered for iPod. I'm actually in the market for a new phone though and try as I might, I can't really find a better touch screen phone than the iPhone so I think I'm going to end up with an iPod-like device anyway. I'll probably rarely use it for PMP purposes though. It will be used mostly for phone, messaging, apps.
